I AM NOT ALONE – Kari Jobe

Loneliness is one of the worst emotions to feel, because it steals the believers joy and victory. It also breeds depression which nurtures unhealthy habits, and radical lifestyle changes including self-harm and suicidal tendencies. Loneliness is also no respecter of persons because it consumes both the rich and poor, young and old, believers and unbelievers alike. Kari Jobe’s “I am not alone” is therefore not just another worship song, but also one that we should daily confess when we find ourselves under the shackles of loneliness. It is a reminder that we are never alone because God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us even when we are in the deepest or darkest of valleys.

So take courage today, be strong, keep God’s words and His promises to you on your lips so it enters into your heart. If you are finding it difficult to do, let the prayerful lyrics of this song usher you into God’s presence today as he will restore your faith, hope, peace and brokenness in Jesus name (Amen).

LYRICS

Verse 1

When I walk through deep waters

I know that you will be with me

When I’m standing in the fire

I will not be overcome

Through the valley of the shadow

I will not fear

Chorus

I am not alone

I am not alone

You will go before me

You will never leave me

Verse 2

In the midst of deep sorrow

I see your light is breaking through

The dark of night will not over take me

I am pressing into you

Lord you fight my every battle

And I will not fear

Chorus

I am not alone

I am not alone

You will go before me

You will never leave me

Bridge

You amaze me

Redeem me

You call me as your own

Verse 3

You’re my strength

You’re my defender

You’re my refuge in the storm

Through these trials

You’ve always been faithful

You bring healing to my soul

Chorus

I am not alone

I am not alone

You will go before me

You will never leave me
