Mark 11:23-24The Message (MSG)

22-24 Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’—no shuffling or shilly-shallying—and it’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything

What do mountains represent in our lives, they represent, challenges, illness, lack, poverty, struggle… basically all the negatives. These mountains continue to pose as barriers that prevent us from living life to the fullest. Because of one mountain or the other, we live in worry, despair, and fear, never actually rising to be all we are created to be. But Mark 11:23-24, tells us how to deal with the mountains in our lives. And how is this, by speaking to them and declaring Gods word directly to the mountain.

The only way mountains can move is by our words. No matter how huge the mountain is, not matter how long its been there, our words will move the mountain. The NLT Version of Mark 11:23-24 says

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. 24 I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.

The 1st step to becoming a mountain destroyer, is believing that your God filled words will move the mountains. The 2nd step is to speak to the mountain. Some wonder, can my words really move a mountain? I like how Rev Mark Hankins says it;

The reason why your words can move the mountain, is because the mountain was made out of words. SELAH (Think deeply on this).

Many times we pray to God to move the mountain, but the moving of the mountain is in you speaking to the mountain. When you pray concerning a situation, God opens your eyes to his word on that particular matter. He gives you scriptures from His word that tells you His will concerning it. What you then do with the word is to say it the mountain. Bishop David Oyedepo says in his book Exploits of Faith;

God wont speak to the mountain for you; you are the one to do it. Many of us are so busy talking to God, but we have not said a thing to the mountain. SELAH (Think deeply on this).

Remember, the power of life and death is in your tongue (Prov 18:21). By your words you frame your world just as God framed the world by His words (Heb 11:3). He has made us co-creators with Him, so that we having the same Spirit of Faith Believer and Speak (2nd Cor4:13)

Stop sitting in despair and crying about what God has already given you the power to change. Pray to God, find the word, and then speak the word to the mountain. Keep speaking it, till that mountain is destroyed. Once God gives you His word, He has given you the ammunition you need to fire. Your job is to keep firing, and remember, we have an ammunition that never runs out.

Speak to your mountain and see it crumble before your eyes.

Have an amazing weekend, as you fire away:-)

God Bless You
