Peace is a very important virtue in these times that we are. There is so much going on all around that threatens to take away our peace. People are going through ‘interesting’ times, the society itself is going through it’s own challenges, and in the midst of all this, it’s easy to worry, fret, get bothered and begin to become weighed down.

But as Children of God, we have been promised Peace by God. Peace in the midst of the storm. Peace through all of life’s challenges, Peace when it doesn’t make sense, Peace when it doesn’t add up, Peace in the process of time and life. PEACE!

Just as God made a Covenant of Peace with the Israelites, so do we also have with Him today and always. Ezekiel 34:25 says;

25 “I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods”.

In Ezekiel 37:26, He also says;

26 “Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore”.

We have peace in the midst of it all, and it is an everlasting Covenant with God. Nothing and No one should affect our Peace.

But you ask, how do we access this peace, when it seems there’s trouble all around? Isaiah 26:3 gives us the answer. It says;

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You”.

The Amplified Bible translation of this verse explains it powerfully. It says;

3 “You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You”.

How do we keep our minds stayed on God? By focusing our attention on His Word! The Bible needs to be your first and last Authority. You Love it, You Read it, You Speak it, You Believe it, You Remind yourself of it, You Always see it, You Trust in, You put your hope firmly in it!!!

There’s a popular saying that goes “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket”. For us children of God, we do not only put ALL our eggs in the basket (#TheBible), but even also all the chickens that hatch from them.

The Word is the sure foundation on which we stand. The word is the assurance we have that no matter what is happening, it’s all going to work together for our good. (Rom 8:28). So maintain your peace today. Let God’s word reassure you.

Remember to use the word to create the world that is yours. We are not meant to accept status quo, but to be co-creators with God in enforcing the Kingdom on the earth.

Remember just like in Genesis 1:1, the earth was in a state of utter chaos. But what did God do? By speaking, He created the universe we exist in today. (Genesis 1: 3-31), & (Hebrews 11:3).

So remain at Peace, Hold on to Peace becasue Jesus said;

John 14:27- 27 “Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]”

He further said;

John 16:33- 33 “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”

And finally be reminded of this; Philippians 4:6-7

6 “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
