The Grace of God #ScriptureThursday

Understanding God’s love for us, and his enablement in our lives, comes from studying scriptures about His Grace. In almost all of Paul’s letters to the Churches, we find that he mostly always started & ended the letters with a greeting of Grace;

  • Romans 1:7 & Romans 16:24
  • 1st Cor 1:3 & 1st Cor 16:23; 2nd Cor 1:2 & 2nd Cor 13:14
  • Gal 1:3 & Gal 6:18
  • Eph 1:2 &  Eph 6:24
  • Phil 1:2 & Phil 4:23
  • Col 1:2
  • 1st Thes 1:1 & 1st Thes 5:28; 2nd Thes 1:2 & 2nd Thes 3:18
  • 1st Tim 1:2 & 1st Tim 6:21; 2nd Tim 1:2 & 2nd Tim 4:22
  • Titus 1:4 & Titus 3:15
  • Phil 1:3 & 25

This shows that Paul also understood the necessity and power of God’s Grace in the life of every believer. It was only by the Grace of God that Paul could have been converted from one of christ’s worst enemies, to become one of his disciples. He is one of the bible great’s and his contribution to the body of Christ cannot be overstated. Yet even Paul said all his work was by the Grace of God; 1st Corinthians 15: 9&10

For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me

Today on #ScriptureThursday we will be sharing some verses about the Grace of God.

John 1:14, 16 & 17

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

2nd Corinthians 12: 9 & 10

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

2nd Timothy 2:1

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16

16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
