Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4
There’s always…always a reason to give thanks and to be grateful. Don’t think too far; just take a moment to look around you and start from there.
- For your sanity and senses that are intact – ever been to a psyche ward?
- For daily protection – whether you ask for it or not!
- For people that genuinely care about you – spent sometime with someone that’s lost a loved one they took for granted?
- For your health – listened to the groaning of someone that’s in pain from being terminally ill?
How about for everything you’ve been through; the good and not so good? You never imagined you would make it through right? But here you are today. It didn’t break you but instead made you stronger and wiser.
You are loved and, contrary to what the world tends to say, you absolutely matter to the One that created you! It’s the truth!!!
God is love and He loves you. That’s surely something to be grateful for right? Child of God, it’s all working together for good! Trust God and He’ll guide your paths. It’s only the best He has in mind for you. Believe it!
There’s a lovely Yoruba proverb that says it best;
“Eni to ba dupe ore ana, a ri omiran gba.” It means “;
“The person that gives thanks for yesterday’s blessings, will get more”.
Let’s try to remember this the next time we are tempted to complain. Let’s remember the good in our lives and to remain grateful for them all.
Whatever you may be contending with today, don’t loose your joy. Stay grateful for what’s working well and even more grateful in faith that the rest will be sorted out too.
Keep the faith for the rest and trust that goodness will come your way. Believe it!
Even for the things He is yet to do; it’s never too early to start rejoicing. Be grateful that He is able to do ALL things and do begin to give thanks in advance for it.
Child of God, believe it; it has surely come pass. Keep your joy and maintain your attitude of gratitude. Your testimony is in the works and there’s more from where they’ll be coming. Stay grateful.
